I believe the best photos don't look posed— they look like you. The real laugh, the way he looks at you when he thinks no one's watching, the version of yourself you'll be so glad you captured. That's the whole reason I picked up a camera, and it's still my favorite part of this job.

How This All Started...
How This All Started...
I grew up surrounded by people who loved to remember things. My mom never went on a family trip without her camera, and my dad always had his handheld camcorder rolling. I didn't know it then, but I was learning something important from both of them: a memory is worth holding onto, and a photo is one of the only ways to hold it forever.
But the moment it really clicked for me was my own senior session. I was eighteen, and when I finally saw that gallery, I saw myself, and the world, in a way I never had before. It was the first time I understood what a good photo can actually do for a person.
The funny part? I didn't even own a camera yet. I'd told a friend's mom I wanted to start photography but had no idea where to begin. She's a woman of strong faith, and she prayed about it — and felt the Lord nudging her to gift me her camera. It was the exact camera I'd been eyeing to get started.
I still don't have words for what that meant to me.
So I started where everyone starts: photographing my friends. And somewhere between all those grad sessions and surprise proposals, something I'd hoped might become a hobby turned into a thriving business. I've been honored to be a small part of people's biggest moments ever since.
